KIN Workshop
The KIN Workshop, located at 300 15th Avenue East in Prince Albert, is the largest division within KIN Enterprises Inc. It is the Production and Contracts division providing individuals with challenging abilities the opportunity to develop specific work skills. Our contracts for pallets, core sample boxes, shipping crates, stakes and lath generate the income and profits necessary to help fund our other programs and services. The participants work along side the staff to complete projects and contracts, in doing so, the sense of pride and accomplishment is astounding. The staff work with each of the participants to enhance existing skills or to achieve goals set out by the participant. Tasks are tailored to each person’s skill level, everyone is unique and adds a special role in the workshop.
Our main goal is to promote learning and independence. KIN has also partnered up with SaskPower to create a wire recycling program for the participants. Wire is recycled and divided into 3 different categories then eventually sold, clean copper being most desired. Recycling is an important part of the programming at KIN but also an important service we provide to the community in general. A variety of lawn furniture and wood products are produced at this location. The staff and participants are busy building dog houses, picnic tables, rocking chairs, bird houses, etc. The staff and participants are proud of every item that is built in the shop, so it is guaranteed to be done with a lot of time commitment.
