The Day Program is designed for individuals that require the highest needs within the company. The relaxed environment is designed for individual growth and development on an ongoing basis. The staff encourage each participant in a person centered way to be the best that they can be and help them reach their personal goals. The atmosphere within the Day Program consists of constant movement, creative artistry, sensory and tactile experiences, auditory listening, relaxation, exercise and massage.
A gazebo outside is available to all of our participants for barbeques, picnics, lawn games, etc. Participants enjoy picking apples from the apple tree, relaxing on the park benches made by the KIN workshop or just laying in the grass. Individuals also partake in planting flowers, garden planting and basic lawn grooming skills.
Day Program has a central area filled with leathers sofas, reclining chairs and a big screen projector, in this area, participants sing karaoke, play charades, watch movies, listen to music, have story time, etc. Day Program, along with other programs, have the opportunity to listen and watch live entertainment. Individuals within the community grace us with their presence and entertain us with dancing, music, comedy, etc.
The sensory room has been a great addition to the Day Program area. The sensory or Snoezelen room allows individuals to obtain the “just right” feeling, a feeling that is achieved when the participant can sort through all the information coming through from various senses. The room includes: fiber optic lights, light wall panel, wheel effects, massage mat, bubble tubes, infinite screen and crash pads.
