We began in a very small way. After several meetings with Pineland Home Care in 1983-84 we began preparing and delivering a noon meal to residents at Sherman Towers from our kitchen at 300 - 15th Avenue East. Although only nine meals a day were served we found it challenging and purposeful as it gave us the opportunity to provide training in the area of safe food handling and help develop the skills necessary to work in the kitchen. As a result of the positive reaction from recipients we were asked if we would be interested in preparing "Meals on Wheels" for the entire city of Prince Albert.

 
 
The Starlight Restaurant was soon to become a reality. With financial help from the Kinsmen Foundation we purchased "Tillie's Restaurant" at 261 16th Street West. Two staff and nine of our employees (clients) were placed at this location and on April 1, 1987 we began preparing "Meals on Wheels" for Prince Albert, delivered by volunteers of Pineland Home Care.

 
 
 
 
The Starlight Restaurant also opened to the public and began serving breakfast and lunch to new customers, specializing in fresh homemade bread, buns and baking.

In February 2003 the Starlight Restaurant moved to our new facility located at 457 - 40th Street East. We continue to prepare "Meals on Wheels", now averaging 1200 meals per month. We have increased our staff to three and approximately 13 adults with special needs. We now can accommodate luncheon meetings in a private room at the Restaurant, catering to luncheon meetings off site, a Snack Program at a Prince Albert Community School, prepare soup and sandwiches for participants in the other programs at this location as well as serve approximately 40 patrons in the Restaurant

We still specialize in homemade soup, buns, bread and baking. Join us for breakfast, coffee or lunch at the Starlight Restaurant, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
